Chiropractic and Athletes
Top athletes from around the world use chiropractic care to optimise their performance. From Tiger Woods to Usain Bolt, chiropractic has worked to prevent injuries, and improve athletic performance at a professional level. Top athletic and olympic teams employ full-time chiropractors in their medical staff.
AC Milan, a top football team from Italy, for instance, employs a chiropractor as its medical director. Dr. Jean-Pierre Meersseman has been credited with elongating players' careers well into their 40s by preventing injuries and improving the biomechanics performance of athletes. In his first year as medical director, AC Milan reported a 43% reduction in practice days lost, a 70% reduction in the use of medicines by players, and player injuries dropping by two thirds. Dr. Meerseman established the famous "Milan Lab" in which a variety of methodologies, with chiropractic at the forefront, have been used to improve player performance.
Players from throughout the Europrean Football League, such as David Beckham, seek his treatments, and recently Meersseman opened up a second lab in London to meet the demands of the English Soccer League. (Source: SkySports, Daily Mail UK)
I didn't know how much I could improve until I started seeing a chiropractor. Since I've been in chiropractic I've improved by leaps and bounds both mentally and physically. -- Michael Jordan, five time NBA Most Valuable Player.
Top ballet companies, like the San Francisco Ballet company, or the New York City Ballet employ chiropractors in their medical teams to care for their dancers. Ironman triathletes, circus performers, and professional cyclists enjoy the benefits of chiropractic. Even more importantly, our patients who, time and again, report the benefits of chiropractic care in their exercise regimes, can attest to how chiropractic has improved their performance, longevity, comfort, and injury prevention. Our clinic treats high school athletes, amateur tennis and cricket players, professional footy and lacrosse players, and triathletes, marathoners, and people seeking to change their lives at any age, shape or form. We understand that exercise is a vital part of maintaining our health and our aim is to help anyone to get their body moving in comfort and without injury.
